In 2010, the company applied for 219 new patents and invested 7,3 percent of its turnover in research and development. The Group currently has 4,400 living patents and patent applications to its name.

Endress+Hauser pursues an active patent rights policy. Endress+Hauser PatServe, features patent engineers and attorneys based in Weil am Rhein, Germany, who take care of all affairs involving industrial property. The annual Endress+Hauser Innovator's Meeting is an acknowledgement to the outstanding achievements of the company´s inventors.
