Scheduling, documenting and controlling calibration activities

Regular calibration and maintenance of field instrumentation is a must for many industries as they systematically prove the performance of their quality critical devices. The task of in situ calibration itself is often challenging but add to this the need to schedule the activities, arrange with the production personnel to make plant available and then plan the resources and mobilise the technician... not to mention document the results is often time consuming, costly and challenging.

Yet the key to ensuring the quality of the process whilst at the same time minimising costs for unnecessary maintenance are dependant upon the people who have to control this process.

CompuCal™ is a high performance software tool that meets all requirements regarding calibration management and implementation. Developed with key users and proven in use in the pharmaceutical and regulated industries CompuCal™ allows you to efficiently maintain and calibrate your on-site instrumentation. It fulfils the high quality demanded of your auditors, and at the same time reduces complexity, time and costs associated with the management of the calibration activity.

The most important features at a glance

  • Controls the maintenance and calibration schedules, issuing work orders and reports as defined by maintenance personnel
  • Can attach important documents such as SOP's, Health and Safety sheets, Loop diagrams to each tag
  • Offers seamless data transfer with other Endress+Hauser Tools - W@M, Field Care and IBA-C, allowing for quick data import from existing Installed Base Analysis files
  • Incorporates audit trail and high security features
  • Up-gradable to full compliance to the FDA 21 CFR Part 11 «Electronic Records and signatures» with full validation services without loss of any historical data
  • Roaming laptop version is optionally available to allow technicians to work remotely on plant independent from the network
  • Can issue certificates as defined by ISO 17025, plus deviation reports
  • Produces management reports for cost analysis, historical data analysis, work due listings and overdue listings
  • Can print certificates related to discrete calibration or loop calibration
  • Is able to take into account unplanned requests for work
  • Full records sheet for each tag allowing all important data to be logged and recorded
  • Work areas can be arranged in plant locations and operating modules
  • E-mail control system which can be set to automatically alert pre-determined personnel of reports actions and deviations when action is necessary

Life Cycle Management

CompuCal™ can exchange data in a seamless way with our FieldCare and IBA (Installed Base Analyst) on site tools.

CompuCal™ will improve maintenance planning, improve the efficiency of your instrument department, reduce the cost of maintenance and at the same time satisfy the requirements of your legislators and auditors. But CompuCal™ also provides links to W@M (Web Enabled Asset Management), which allows you access to enhancement possibilities for your instrumentation base. It allows you to download SOP's* to control your calibration procedures, find out more data concerning your installed instrumentation - such as a faultfinding guide or an operating manual specific to the serial number of the device in your plant.

* SOP = Standard Operating Procedure
