Endress+Hauser embarks on a $2 Million Expansion of Burlington Facility

Burlington, Ontario, August 23, 2007 - Endress+Hauser didn't need one of its renowned measurement instruments to determine it needed to expand its head-office facility on Sutton Drive.  Sustained growth and an increasing lack of space provided enough incentive for the company to invest in a $2 million upgrade that, once completed, will enable Endress+Hauser to offer more services and solutions to its customers.

The expansion project, which should be finished by the end of 2007, will see Endress+Hauser's Canadian headquarters increase to almost 28,000 square feet from the current 16,000 square feet.

"It is an ambitious expansion that attests to the fact we are a successful company which needs to continue to upgrade its operations to meet the growing demands of its clientele,” said Richard Lewandowski, General Manager, Endress+Hauser Canada. "We take pride in the products we manufacture, but also in being a full-range services-and-solutions provider, and this will be facilitated and enhanced by the expanding of our operation.”

One such enhancement is the 2,500 square feet of space devoted to a new lab and training centre that will be open to current and potential Endress+Hauser customers. The centre will provide training in such areas as Fieldbus, Profibus, Modbus, HART, and technology courses in measurement of level flow, pressure, temperature, liquid analysis, as well as maintenance, service, configuration and calibration training. Training session participants will, in most instances, be able to obtain certification.

"Establishing an in-house training centre is a key component in our expansion plans, not only because it complements what we are able to do as a service provider but also because it is a value-added offering to our customers,” remarked Mr. Lewandowski. "Developing and mastering the proper skills in the various disciplines at the training centre will benefit the respective industries as a whole.”

The expanded Burlington facility will provide Endress+Hauser Canada with the capacity to hire as many as 40 new employees, although the company plans to do so on a gradual basis.

The architect for the expansion project is Michael Spaziani, of Port Credit, while the Mississauga firm of Tremblay and Hampton is the contractor.
