Endress + Hauser offer a range of resistance thermometers and thermo-elements with measurement transmitters. Resistance thermometers type Pt 100 are used in the temperature range of 0 to 100oC. A three-wire circuit is used when there is a short distance between the thermometer head and the display or evaluating instrument in the control area. With medium transmission distance the signal is transformed to a current in the 4-20 mA range at the measuring head which is them processed by the instrument the control area. To bridge long distances and where greater accuracy is specified, pulse frequency modulation (PFM) is used.
