Endress+Hauser started out with capacitive level measuring instruments. Since 1953 the company has manufactured level measurement instruments for environmental industry and has developed and optimised a wide range of measuring techniques. Though these could be used almost universally, E+H introduced others, based on different physical principles. Hydrostatic pressure, ultrasonic, microwave and gamma ray radiometric measurements were brought into use, among others.
Today a wide range of designs and process connections are available accompanied by application-specific interfaces: any level measurement can be carried out with the right instrument, using the appropriate technology, at the right price. Level measuring instruments still contributes nearly over half of the E+H group turnover.
