Endress+Hauser Celebrates Family Day in Stahnsdorf
The Competence Center for Silicon Sensors has been a part of Endress+Hauser for more than 20 years
On Saturday, 84 associates of the instrumentation manufacturer Endress+Hauser took the opportunity of showing their families the modern work places and production facilities in Stahnsdorf. A total of 250 visitors wanted to see the state-of-the-art factory for silicon sensors with their own eyes.
In 1994, Endress+Hauser, took over GRW Druckmesstechnik GmbH with 11 associates at the time. The 20-year anniversary of being part of Endress+Hauser was already celebrated on a small scale in 2014. “But we wanted to wait until summer to have the possibility of inviting the associates’ families and celebrating outside,” said the manager of the production site, Dieter Stolze. “With this celebration, we would like to thank our associates for the work and support they have contributed.”
A lot of things have changed during these two decades – the number of associates as well as the number of produced components for pressure instruments have increased continuously. The year of 2009 marked an important event in the history of the Competence Center when the previous production hall in Teltow burnt down completely. All work places and production facilities were destroyed over night. But nobody was laid off for this reason.
On the contrary: the efforts to complete the new production site in Stahnsdorf, which had already been in progress, ahead of schedule were increased and this goal was accomplished due to very hard work. The new building cost 8.5 million euros and features state-of-the-art production and development areas on more than 3,000 square meters. Today, 84 associates work at the site.
A family day was hosted already for the second time and this time even more people came. There were interesting tours of the production sites. From there, the visitors could see into the clean rooms where the production of the sensor components starts. The visitors were very interested in the Endress+Hauser show truck which demonstrated the portfolio. The children could enjoy an exciting program comprising a bouncing castle as well as interesting physical skill games like the wire loop game
Ideal environment in the urban hinterland of Berlin
Stahnsdorf is the Competence Center for Silicon Sensors within Endress+Hauser. The sensors are important components for high-quality pressure instruments. The Berlin hinterland offer Endress+Hauser the perfect environment for future growth. Dieter Stolze emphasizes the excellent network: “An array of universities, institutions and companies develop materials, procedures and products for the micro system technology. This network of experts is the ideal soil on which our innovations can thrive.”
