Family Day at Endress+Hauser in Nesselwang
Employees show the competence of the production company
The producer of measurement technology, Endress+Hauser Wetzer in Nesselwang, opened the doors for families and friends of the employees on Saturday. A tour through the building showed work places and production facilities with displays and work demonstrations in which visitors could actively take part. Lunch was prepared in the factory canteen for around 1000 visitors and coffee and cake were available in the festival tent. The visitors left the event with the impression of a real insight into the competencies and daily life of the production company.
The Allgäu company was founded in 1872 by Hermann Wetzer and is part of the Swiss Endress+Hauser Group since 1976. Today the company employs more than 640 associates worldwide, including production facilities in Pessano (Italy), Greenwood (USA), Suzhou (China), Aurangabad (India) and Benoni (South Africa), 360 of whom are working in the headquarters Nesselwang (Germany) – including 27 apprentices. The company moved from Pfronten to Nesselwang in 1990.
The family day had been organized by a team of employees. The program offered something for everybody. The employee brass band “Blasmusik for Excellence” as well as the music band “People for Music Process” have specially been founded for this day. Both played in the festival tent, receiving a lot of applause. If it were up to the visitors it will surely not have been their last show. The managing director Harald Hertweck welcomed the guests in the foyer of the company.
Besides that, one could listen to short presentations, join tours through the calibration laboratory, do a company tour, or get information about the different possible apprenticeships at an education booth, set up by the apprentices.
The younger generation did not have any chance to feel bored either. There were balloons, the children could have their faces painted, paint a picture or enjoy the bouncy castle. In the ”Wetzer photo studio“, visitors could have single or group photos taken, to instantly carry the memory home.
Employees are the basis for success
Endress+Hauser combines two sides: the technical and the human one. Once again this became clear at the family day. It is also lived in everyday working life here. There is room for innovations and the development of the employees is specifically supported.
Openness, flexibility, internationality and the feeling of togetherness lead to success. On top, an excellent health management exists. Basis of the success is the high degree of identification with the company, which can be perceived in the employees, as well as their personally felt responsibility.
Not only in the vanguard in the Allgäu
In spring 2015, the company Endress+Hauser received the award “Deutschlands beste Arbeitgeber 2015“ (“Germanys best employers 2015“) in the class 50 to 500 employees, as well as “Beste Arbeitgeber Bayern 2015“ (“Best employers Bavaria 2015”). The company had already won the second place with “Beste Arbeitgeber im Allgäu 2014“ (“Best employers in the Allgäu 2014”). These awards confirm the employee oriented working culture of the company.
