A forward-looking conference for industry

Endress+Hauser CEO Matthias Altendorf speaks about organizational transformation at the Industry.forward Summit in Berlin

How does an elephant learn to dance – or how do you compel a successful company, which has grown over many years, to become agile and flexible enough to chart new paths and find fresh approaches to serving even established markets? Matthias Altendorf, CEO of the Endress+Hauser Group, explained at the Industry.forward Summit on 16 May 2019 in Berlin how the process and lab automation specialist is further developing its business model to address the challenges of the digital future.

According to Altendorf, the key is organizational ambidexterity: focusing on one thing without ignoring the other. “This allows even mature organizations to prove that they can learn and change,” said the CEO during his presentation. To implement this strategy, Endress+Hauser delivers more than 450 product updates each year while simultaneously ensuring innovation occurs by going down new paths, collaborating closely with partners and investing heavily in research and development.
