Green innovation

Endress+Hauser is intensifying its focus on sustainable product development. At this year’s Innovators’ Meeting, for example, the Group presented an all-new award for eco-design and circularity – to no fewer than three teams. By developing innovations such as new electronics and housing designs, these teams realized significant energy and material savings and hence reduced the carbon footprint of various Endress+Hauser devices. “This proves it’s possible to make our instruments less resource-intensive and more eco-friendly without compromising on reliability and measurement functionality,” says Endress+Hauser Group innovation process and portfolio manager Daniel Persson.

Freedom on four wheels

Waking up somewhere new every day: Vacationing in a campervan is the ultimate in freedom. And it’s growing in popularity, especially with young people. For apprentices and students in Maulburg, Germany, realizing that dream of a meandering road trip or a short burst of nature just got a whole lot easier thanks to an initiative by the product center for level and pressure measurement technology. With the younger generation in mind, the center has augmented its vehicle fleet with a campervan. It has space for four people and everything they need for their home away from home. The young travelers themselves are responsible for the vehicle’s management and upkeep.

Gold medal for sustainability

Endress+Hauser scored 78 points out of 100 in the 2025 EcoVadis sustainability ratings, keeping its place among the top five percent of the approximately 150,000 rated companies. The Group improved its sustainability performance across virtually all metrics compared with last year, increasing its combined score by a whole seven points. “We are very pleased with this result, especially considering that EcoVadis has tightened up its requirements,” says Julia Schempp, head of the Endress+Hauser Group’s Corporate Sustainability Office. EcoVadis is an international platform that rates companies on their sustainability performance in four principal areas: environment, ethics, labor & human rights and sustainable procurement.

Fostering young potential

Germany has a scholarship called the Deutschlandstipendium that aims to eliminate financial barriers to higher education for exceptionally gifted and engaged young people. It pays a monthly stipend to students demonstrating both outstanding academic achievement and civic engagement
and is funded 50/50 by the federal government and private donors. As one such donor, Endress+Hauser is currently supporting 19 students at seven universities – and not just financially. In addition to funding, the company provides personal mentoring and opportunities to experience professional life. “It’s our way of helping young talents realize their potential,” says Jens Kröger, head of the Endress+Hauser Group’s department for global dual education.

The ultimate endurance challenge

All around the world, Endress+Hauser provides sponsorship support for selected social, cultural, educational, scientific and sports projects that promote community spirit and benefit society. This year, for example, Endress+Hauser Temperature+System Products sponsored the seventh Mountainman trail running and hiking event held in Nesselwang in southern Germany. A record 1,500-plus athletes ran the event’s six trails. These ranged from the gentle Family Trail to the XXL Trail, which spanned over 71 kilometers and a challenging 3,952 meters of elevation gain. All offered stunning views of Neuschwanstein Castle. Endress+Hauser was both an event sponsor and a contestant, fielding no fewer than 59 runners from 11 countries.
